We came out early Sunday morning because one of our customers said their unit was not cooling. We don’t want anyone to have to wait in this heat!
It turned out that although their compressor was pumping and pulling amperage, it wasn’t doing anything with the refrigerant.
Inside Your Compressor
Inside your compressor is a scroll. The scroll has to move in order for the refrigerant to flow through the unit. Although the compressor seemed to be working, this scroll was not moving and the unit was not pumping refrigerant. No wonder it wasn’t cooling the house!
Replace or Not?
Luckily, this customer’s compressor is under warranty and we were able to replace it the same day. Now their house is cool and comfortable.
