Spring Tune Up: What We Check in Your Attic

It’s time for Spring tune-ups!

Filter Check

When you join our Service Plan, we will come out every spring to check your air conditioning system. First, we check the filter to make sure it doesn’t need to be changed.

Drain Pan

Second, we look at the drain pan to make sure there’s no standing water, rust, or water leaking through the bottom. We also double-check that you have a float switch installed. This device will turn the system off so that it doesn’t make any more water. If the primary drain that goes to the sink gets clogged and the secondary drain that takes water to the eave of the house gets clogged, you risk water backing up into your attic and down through your ceiling. No one wants that! The float switch will detect when water is backing up and will shut down your system so it can’t flood.

Return Plenum

We also check the air in from the return plenum and the air out from the supply plenum. We make sure that the air has the correct 20° split and that the system is running as efficiently as possible.

After that, we go outside and inspect your outside unit.
