Fall Tune-Up For Electric Air Handler

Have you scheduled your fall tune-up for your heating system yet?

We recently did a fall tune-up for one of our customers who has an electric air handler.

Electric Air Handlers

These have what we call heat strips, which are the parts that heat up your home. When we do the fall tune-up, we check the amps on the heat strips. We also make sure that your lower motors are spinning correctly and have no play in the shafts.

Air Filters

Then we change your air filter. These should be changed regularly. Many of you know that, but we bet a few of you don’t! Your system will always be more efficient and last longer if you change your air filters regularly.

Drain Lines

Finally, we check your drain lines to make sure that they are clear. Most of the time, these don’t create water during the winter. However, if you have a heat pump, this will cause your outdoor unit to switch with a reversing valve, allowing it to heat your house instead of relying solely on the heat strips.

When this happens, it creates some water. If your drain lines are clear, that water will be no problem!

Your Next Step

Cold weather is on its way! Schedule your tune-up below if you haven’t already.
