Do This If Water Is Dripping From Your House

It’s spring, and we are getting into air conditioning season!

The Problem

Air conditioning systems make a lot of water. In the summer when it’s really hot, your system can make up to 10 gallons of water a day! We have to have a way to drain that water. Normally it drains off into the house plumbing. Sometimes, though, there is a problem with the plumbing and water backs up.

Where The Water Comes Out

Somewhere under the eaves of your roof, there is a little PVC pipe that sticks out. When the AC water backs up, it will flow into this overflow pipe. Not all houses have this pipe but most do, especially if your system is in the attic.

Water should not be dripping out of this pipe

What The Leak Means

These little pipes are always installed in front of a window. If you ever look out of your window and see a drip coming from this overflow pipe, give us a call! This means your drainage pipe is backed up and will need to be cleaned out. We can get that fixed in no time.
